LEVEL 2 AWARD IN ACTIVITY FIRST AID (RQF)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in outdoor and activity based environments.

 

Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills needed to treat a range of conditions that could occur during any form of activity, from life threatening illnesses to minor injuries.

CONTENT OVERVIEW
  • Role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Incident and casualty management

  • Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation

  • Unconscious casualty

  • Choking

  • External Bleeding and shock

  • Minor injuries – small cuts, grazes, bruises, and small splinters

  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains

  • Head and spinal injuries

  • Chest and abdominal injuries

  • Burns and scalds

  • Eye Injuries

  • Poisonous substances

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Major Illnesses – Heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma

  • Extremes of heat and cold
