Course Overview: The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) qualification is designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace. This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their fire safety awareness to help ensure that they are keeping themselves and others safe at all times in the workplace. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective fire safety in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first warden. Course Overview: The role and responsibilities of the first warden Assess situations in order to act safely and effectively Identify the main causes of fires in the workplace Recognise the main costs of fires in the workplace for employers, employees and society Identify the key elements for effective fire risk management in the workplace Recognise how the components of the fire triangle can be used to control fire risks Identify different fire risk control measures Recall the safe operating parameters for the use of portable fire-fighting equipment Recognise simple checks for ensuring that fire safety equipment is serviceable and safe to use Course Details: This is a 1 day course that starts on the date selected. Full attendance is required to pass. Training will be on Zoom and participants will be required to have their cameras and microphones turned on to ensure full attendance. Courses are interactive to check learners understanding and make your training more enjoyable and memorable. Zoom log in details for the session will be emailed out in advance and we have a IT technician on hand to assist with any issues. We ask that you are in a quiet room with no distractions to allow the session to run smoothly for everyone. You will need to have a good internet connection to prevent dropping out from the session.
