COMBINED EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK & EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID (RQF)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification combines the Level 3 Award In Emergency First Aid At Work (RQF) and the Level 3 Award In Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF), into a streamlined course, that provides learners with all of the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid.

This course has been specifically designed for those who work in settings that require both First Aiders and Paediatric First Aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.

​

Over 3 extended days, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to provide effective first aid for adults, children and infants.

CONTENT OVERVIEW

  • Understand the role of a paediatric first aider 

  • First aid kits / Record keeping 

  • Assess situations in order to act safely and effectively 

  • Priorities of paediatric first aid 

  • Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation

  • Unconsciousness casualty 

  • Management of a seizure 

  • Choking Casualty 

  • Anaphylaxis 

  • Shock 

  • External bleeding

  • Minor injuries small cuts / grazes / small splinters / nose bleeds 

  • Minor burns and scalds 

  • Completing accident report form
